Qingdao Waterfront Park site is long and narrow, extending 2 kilometers along the shore of the Feng river adjacent to new Huangdao district CBD area. The majority of the site was concrete river flood bank. The whole waterfront is lack of access, shades and recreation fields. New design proposal transforms this stretch of outdated waterfront bank into a thriving 20 hectare civic landscape. The park mediates a system of new connections between the CBD and the river, becoming a vital urban threshold that provides space for a wide variety of activities and programming, all with spectacular views of Feng river.
